Van Gogh's Last Painting | Art History You Need to Know!
Where did Van Gogh paint his last painting, eat his last meal, and spend his last night before he died? Just north of Paris is the small French village of Auvers Sur Oise. Van Gogh painted nearly 80 works of art. What's most amazing is that each location is nearly exactly how it was when Van Gogh was alive!
Come along with me to see the famous wheat fields he painted, the Church in Auvers, and the room where Van Gogh died with his brother Theo by his side. This village is amazing, and truly helps you understand who really was Van Gogh, and what happened during his last few days.

    • @artrageousnate
      @artrageousnate 20 дней назад

      I have seen it, and it's an amazing movie! I still can't believe they were able to make something like that happen. I think the movie mixed reality with fiction, which makes sense. I just keep looking at everything and everyone I have researched or interviewed for this series, and re-reading what his friend Paul Gauguin said. Paul, who truly was his best friend and knew him on a deep level, didn't even hesitate to say Van Gogh committed suicide. I think for him, it just made sense considering the mental state Van Gogh often found himself. I have a family member who is bipolar, and for me, Van Gogh's behavior resembles this family member so much. From extreme mood swings without any warning, extreme depression despite being surrounded by friends, and being depressed yet seeming to be living their best life. Anyway, I love talking about all of this! I'm less concerned about exactly how it happened, etc, and more concerned about people, and specifically artists, being aware of symptoms like Van Gogh's. Thanks for watching and the feedback!

    Here's a video I made of my interpretation of the great Italian 15th century painter Paolo Veronese's masterpiece "NOZZE DI CANA" that you inquired about on my brochure. Veronese's original painting is a sublime and massive (6.77 m × 9.94 m (267 in × 391 in) canvas that was painted in 1563 during the Renaissance. The French under the command of the young Napoleon Bonaparte, tore the artwork from the wall of the monastery of San Giorgio Maggiore in 1797 as part of their plunder of Venice. The painting is now housed in the Louvre Museum where it keeps company in the same grand exhibition hall as the Mona Lisa. I put together a short slide show of my creation of "NOZZE DI CANA" ( 80" x 55" oil on linen, price upon request) that I think you will enjoy. this is a good video for making handmade paper but not for watercolor paper. real watercolor paper is made from cotton; maybe from cotton plant fibers or cotton rags or cotton linters. your white glue serves as the sizing for the paper and since pva or white glue is acrylic based, the paper made is not ideal for watercolor painting. it is good for acrylic and gouache painting but not for watercolor.

    The design doesn't work because it attempts to meld a sharp-ish cuboid with a flowing arc. And the surface finishes are different between the body and the neck. The faucet has a minimalist aesthetic, but then it has a lump on the side (the real faucet handle). And touch-to-turn-on is the wrong UX paradigm for a device for which you need fine flow control. The head of the faucet is also misleading because it corresponds in no way to the narrow water jet.

      Appreciate the feedback! Yes, you are right. Napoleon never stole the Mona Lisa, and I never mentioned that he did. Of course, Napoleon did steal a TON of other works, which I do have an episode on one of them you should check out! I think most people forget that Da Vinci lived in France sponsored by the French government for the better part of his older years. I was just at his home a couple years ago. I think Perugia was just frustrated about other works that the Louvre had, which were either of Italian origin or stolen. For him, it seemed like more of a stunt for attention than anything else. Either way, the theft most definitely skyrocketed the Mona Lisa into fame, which I think is funny as an art history buff. Just think how many people and ideas are now only famous simply because enough people on Instagram, RUclips, etc says they are. Food for thought!

    Just got back from Barcelona, didn't book tickets in advance but just seeing the exterior in person was worth that trip. The city also has other cathedrals that are well worth visiting and incredibly impressive and beautiful in their own right

      So glad that you were able to go see it! It’s definitely worth seeing even from the exterior. I think people underestimate it because you really need to see it with your own eyes and not just a photograph. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
